Neal
M. Yokota, president and chief
executive officer, joined the firm in 1987 and served various roles before
purchasing Stryker Weiner & Yokota Public Relations, Inc. in 2000.
Neal is one of Hawaii’s foremost public relations consultants on issues management, crisis communications, risk communications, coalition development and strategic communications. He has counseled clients dealing with some of Hawaii’s most controversial issues including geothermal energy, rapid transit, the Waiahole Ditch Contested Case Hearing and many other land use and environmental issues. Neal also counsels numerous clients on community relations, marketing communications, promotions and publicity. His clients include companies and organizations such as AIG Hawaii Insurance Company, The James Campbell Company, Castle & Cooke Hawaii, Alexander & Baldwin and the Hawai‘i Tourism Authority. Neal has received several awards for his work from organizations such as the Public Relations Society of America and the International Association of Business Communicators. Neal also was recognized as the 2000 Young Businessperson of the Year by Pacific Business News. Neal is on the board of directors of Child & Family Service, Helping Hands Hawaii, the McKinley Finance Academy and the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl. Neal was born and raised in Hawaii and holds a bachelor’s degree in advertising from Michigan State University. |
